Branch of Practical Sciences

It is one of the Branches of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at Al-Qasim Green University / College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, which is responsible for teaching applied subjects (practical subjects) for individual and team games from the curriculum vocabulary for the four stages in the college.

vision and Message

The Applied Sciences branch aspires to be among the scientific branchs accredited locally and internationally by raising its scientific and administrative level and to be a pioneer in the fields of scientific research to serve the Iraqi, Arab and international community.
Preparing qualified and specialized scientific personnel in the field of physical education and sports sciences to contribute to the advancement of school sports, sports, youth, and community health, as well as preparing researchers in the field of sports sciences to advance the Iraqi sports movement at various levels.

Tasks

  • Supervising and following up on the application of the curriculum components for the four stages.
  • The link between the College Council and the branch’s academic staff and the implementation of the College Council’s recommendations.
  • Continuously holding meetings for professors for the purpose of evaluation and evaluation regarding students, curricula, and achievement rates for curriculum items.
  • Direct encouragement of professors to advance the reality of scientific research and participate in conferences, seminars and specific lectures related to faculties of physical education and sports sciences inside and outside the country.
  • Holding arbitration and training courses for students to provide sports federations with referees and coaches who have a major role in developing sports in society.

Objectives

  1. Preparing teachers for physical education lessons for secondary school levels who are familiar with the physical, educational and social aspects.
  2. Working to develop the sports movement for all sectors of the state, in cooperation with the relevant authorities (the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Olympic Committee).
  3. Contributing to spreading sports culture and working to make sports one of the important means of bringing people together
  4. Contributing to community service through education to practice sports and its positive effects on the general health of the individual and developing physical education curricula to serve the progress and advancement of society.
  5. Preparing qualified scientific staff to work in the fields of scientific research and sports training to develop the reality of Iraqi sports.
